Power Tool: A razor that hits the spot
The great thing about the power tools LookinGood is featuring this week is that they’re do-it-yourself solutions to things you’ve been paying a lot of money for, or new technology for an old favorite. Take the razor, for instance. The major players in the shaving game are all adding tiny little motors to disposables that will make the blades vibrate, allowing you to get a closer shave with fewer strokes. Spend enough time on the internet, and they all start looking the same.
But The Tinge was different right from the beginning. The manufacturer’s name is Illusion International, for instance. Illusion? What is delusional about shaving your legs? Not your typical motor-driven disposable razor, either, but big and pink, with a thick, rigid handle allowing you to wrap your fingers around it, so it won’t slip just when you get going. Hmmm.
Okay, there it is, right on the website: “This very pleasurable toy disguised as a fully-functional wet-shaving razor is an attractive, multi-functional product …”
Multifunctional, indeed.
The package, available for $79.99 at www.mytinge.com, comes with the essential shaving requirements – two extra razor cartridges, a charging stand and power adapter. But it also comes with a 2 oz. bottle of Pleasure Gel and a user’s manual to explain how to get the most out of your shaving experience and to make sure the “vibration frequencies … leave you fully satisfied.”
The razor is submersible and has a three-hour battery life. That’s one helluva long, hot bath. And unlike those other battery-operated razors, it has 32 speed-and-mode combinations, so you can be faster, faster, faster. Or indulge in a slow, pleasurable … shave. Miss a spot? Lower? Yeah, right there. I can almost feel a tinge of color rising in my cheeks. Maybe that’s where it got it’s name. Either that or they left out an “L”.
Another Do-It-Yourself power tool, ladies. Rosie the Riveter would be riveted.
